Installing fire safety systems at new heights

With a warehouse space covering approximately 5000m2, our team worked alongside the construction team and client to deliver a fire safety system that would afford STIHL greater flexibility in its use of warehouse space for years to come.

This fire safety fit out, which took approximately six months from the initial design to installation included fire sprinklers, fire alarm systems, fire pumps, water storage tanks and portable fire systems.

Using new technology

We pride ourselves on working with our clients to anticipate business growth by providing a fire safety installation that can evolve with their growing business rather than hinder it. In this case, with a 16.7m ceiling height (ridge height), we proposed a K28 ESFR sprinkler, making the STIHL Queensland Distribution Centre one of the first projects in Australia to utilise this product.

Innovation is at the core of what we do

Traditionally, warehouse spaces with tall ridge heights (above 13.7m) are confined to sprinkler protection utilising ceiling level and and in-rack fire sprinklers. The K28 ESFR sprinkler used in this project, allows for maximum flexibility for STIHL – allowing the client to change their racking configuration and storage needs at any time, rather than being confined by the placement of the existing racking layout and costly modifications to in-rack sprinklers.
